School Overview

Direct.gov.uk - overview of Larklands Infants and Nursery School

Phonics in School

At Larkland's throughout the school and Nursery,we follow 'Letters & Sounds' which assists teachers in promoting speaking and listening skills, so that by the end of Key Stage 1, children have developed fluent word reading skills and have a good foundation in spelling. To support the teaching of reading there is a consistencey across the school in the use of the synthetic phonics approach which supports the work we do during the phonic lessons.
